Eurodac
Eurodac is a European database designed to help manage asylum seekers and irregular migrants. It collects and stores fingerprints from individuals applying for asylum in EU member states. When someone applies for asylum, their fingerprints are taken and compared to those already in the system. This helps authorities quickly determine if the person has previously applied for asylum in another country, ensuring the correct handling of their case. Eurodac aims to streamline asylum procedures and prevent "asylum shopping," where individuals apply in multiple countries to seek better chances of approval.
