Eukaryotic ribosome assembly
Eukaryotic ribosome assembly is the process by which the cell constructs its protein factories, called ribosomes. It begins in the nucleus, where different RNA molecules and proteins come together to form small and large ribosomal subunits. These components are assembled step by step, involving the transport of molecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Once the subunits are fully formed and transported out of the nucleus, they combine in the cytoplasm to create functional ribosomes. These assembled ribosomes then carry out protein synthesis, translating genetic instructions into the building blocks of life.
