Estado da Índia

Estado da Índia, or the Estado da India, was a colonial territory controlled by Portugal from the 16th to the 20th centuries, primarily located in what is now the Indian state of Goa, along with parts of coastal India. Established as a key trading post, it was significant for the spice trade and missionary activities. The capital was Goa, which became a vibrant cultural hub blending Portuguese and Indian influences. The territory remained under Portuguese control until 1961, when it was annexed by India, marking the end of European colonial rule in India.
