esomeprazole

Esomeprazole is a medication used to reduce the amount of stomach acid produced. It's often prescribed for conditions like acid reflux, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and stomach ulcers. By decreasing acid, it helps relieve symptoms such as heartburn and promotes healing of the stomach lining. Esomeprazole belongs to a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It is usually taken once daily, and it works by blocking the proton pumps in stomach cells that generate acid. This helps protect the stomach and esophagus from damage caused by excess acid.
