ergodicity

Ergodicity is a concept in statistics and physics that describes whether a system's long-term behavior can be understood by looking at a single typical experience over time, rather than needing to observe many different systems. In an ergodic system, the average result from a single, long enough observation is the same as the average across many similar systems at a single point in time. This means that, given enough time, the system explores all its possible states evenly, allowing predictions based on time averages to reflect the overall behavior.
