EPLF (Eritrean People's Liberation Front)

The Eritrean People's Liberation Front (EPLF) was a political and military organization that fought for Eritrea's independence from Ethiopia. Formed in the 1960s, it led a guerrilla war, uniting diverse groups and advocating for Eritrea's self-determination. The EPLF capitalized on both military strength and political strategy to resist Ethiopian control. In 1991, they successfully ousted Ethiopian forces, leading to Eritrea's independence in 1993. The EPLF then transitioned into the ruling political party, shaping Eritrea's governance and advocating for national unity and development.
