Epigenome Roadmap

The Epigenome Roadmap is a research project aimed at mapping the epigenome, which consists of chemical modifications that influence gene activity without changing the DNA sequence itself. Essentially, it helps us understand how genes are turned on or off in different types of cells and tissues, and how these changes can affect health and development. By cataloging the various epigenetic markers across diverse human cell types, researchers hope to provide insights into diseases, personalize medicine, and improve treatments by revealing how our environment interacts with our genetic makeup.
