Epidemiologic Triad

The Epidemiologic Triad is a model used to understand how diseases spread. It consists of three elements: the agent (the cause of the disease, like a virus or bacteria), the host (the person or animal that can get the disease), and the environment (the conditions that allow the disease to spread). When these three components interact, they can lead to an outbreak. By studying the relationships among the agent, host, and environment, public health professionals can develop strategies to prevent and control diseases in communities.
