epideictic rhetoric
Epideictic rhetoric is a form of speaking or writing that focuses on praise or blame, often used in ceremonies, speeches, or speeches honoring someone. Its primary goal is to shape values and strengthen a community's shared beliefs by highlighting virtues or criticize faults. Unlike persuasive or informational rhetoric, epideictic rhetoric emphasizes emotional appeal and moral reflection, celebrating or condemning qualities or actions to reinforce cultural identity and moral standards. Examples include eulogies, award speeches, and moments of national reflection.
