Ependymoma
Ependymoma is a type of brain tumor that arises from ependymal cells, which line the cavities of the brain and spinal cord. These tumors can occur in both children and adults, often in the spinal cord or brain's ventricular system. Ependymomas can cause symptoms like headaches, seizures, or problems with balance, depending on their location. Treatment typically involves surgical removal of the tumor, and may also include radiation therapy. While ependymomas can be challenging to treat, advances in neuro-oncology are improving outcomes for patients.
