enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma
Enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma (EATL) is a rare but serious type of cancer that develops in the small intestine's immune cells, called T-cells. It is often linked to celiac disease, especially in people with long-standing gluten intolerance. In EATL, these T-cells grow abnormally and form tumors, which can cause symptoms like abdominal pain, weight loss, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Because it affects the digestive tract, it can also lead to complications like intestinal blockage or perforation. EATL requires prompt diagnosis and treatment, usually involving surgery and chemotherapy, due to its aggressive nature.
