Enslavement and Resistance

Enslavement is the systemic practice of forcing individuals into forced labor or servitude against their will, often through violence, coercion, or legal mechanisms, denying them basic freedoms. Resistance refers to the various ways enslaved people oppose or cope with their condition, such as subtle acts of defiance, rebellion, maintaining cultural identities, or seeking ways to escape. Both concepts highlight the severe oppression of slavery and the human spirit’s resilience in striving for freedom and dignity despite oppressive circumstances.
