Energy Research and Development Administration (ERDA)
The Energy Research and Development Administration (ERDA) was a U.S. government agency created in 1974 to focus on energy policy, research, and development. Its goal was to improve energy production, reduce dependence on foreign oil, and develop alternative energy sources like nuclear, solar, and wind power. ERDA coordinated efforts across various energy sectors to promote innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. In 1977, ERDA was dissolved, and its responsibilities were transferred to the Department of Energy, which continues to oversee energy policy and research today.
