Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)

Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms, which are bulges in the main artery that can be life-threatening if they rupture. During EVAR, a doctor inserts a small, tube-like device called a stent graft into the blood vessel through a small incision, usually in the groin. This stent graft reinforces the weakened area of the artery, allowing blood to flow through safely and reducing the risk of rupture. Recovery is typically faster and involves less discomfort compared to traditional open surgery.
