Encyclopédistes

Encyclopédistes were a group of 18th-century thinkers and writers committed to compiling and sharing comprehensive, well-organized knowledge in the form of the Encyclopédie. Led by Denis Diderot and Jean le Rond d’Alembert, their goal was to promote reason, scientific understanding, and Enlightenment ideals by making information accessible to the public. They challenged traditional authority and religious dogma, emphasizing critical thinking and empirical evidence. The Encyclopédie played a key role in advancing education, fostering intellectual exchange, and encouraging societal progress during the Age of Enlightenment.
