Employment Non-Discrimination Act
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) was a proposed U.S. law aimed at prohibiting discrimination in employment based on sexual orientation and gender identity. It sought to ensure that individuals would not face unfair treatment in hiring, firing, promotions, or workplace benefits due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. Although the act has been introduced multiple times in Congress, it has not yet become law. Its purpose is to promote equality and protect the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals in the workplace, mirroring existing protections for race, color, religion, sex, and national origin under federal law.
