Emperor Ping of Han
Emperor Ping of Han was a Chinese emperor who reigned briefly from 6 to 9 CE, during the Han Dynasty. He became emperor at a very young age after his father’s death, under the influence of regents and court officials. His reign was marked by political instability and external pressures, notably from the powerful and ambitious Wang Mang, who eventually usurped the throne in 9 CE, founding the short-lived Xin Dynasty. Ping’s reign is often seen as a transitional period that highlighted the fragility of imperial authority and the rise of regional power struggles in ancient China.
