Emotional Memory

Emotional memory refers to the way our brain records and stores feelings tied to specific experiences. When something significant triggers an emotion—like happiness, fear, or sadness—your brain links that feeling with the event. Later, encountering a similar situation can bring back the associated emotion, even if the event itself isn’t remembered consciously. This process helps us learn from emotional experiences and adapt our behavior. Emotional memories can be powerful and sometimes influence our reactions, attitudes, or decisions without us being fully aware of the original event causing the feeling.
