Elbow Anatomy
The elbow is a hinge joint connecting the upper arm bone (humerus) to the two bones of the forearm (radius and ulna). It allows bending and straightening of the arm, as well as rotating the forearm to turn the palm up or down. Key structures include bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons that work together to stabilize and move the joint. The elbow also contains nerves and blood vessels that supply sensation and nourishment. Its complex design enables a wide range of motion essential for daily activities, while also providing stability during movement.
