Elamite

Elamite was the language spoken by the Elamite civilization, which thrived in what is now southwestern Iran from around 2700 to 539 BCE. It is an ancient, independent language with its own unique script, known as the Elamite cuneiform, used primarily for inscriptions and official records. Although it eventually declined after Persian dominance, Elamite provides valuable insights into early Iranian history and culture. Due to its rarity and complexity, it remains a significant subject of study for linguists and archaeologists interested in ancient Near Eastern civilizations.
