
Elaine Chao
Elaine Chao is an American politician and businesswoman who served as the U.S. Secretary of Transportation from 2017 to 2021 under President Donald Trump. She was the first Asian American woman to hold a cabinet position in the U.S. government and previously served as the Secretary of Labor under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009. Chao has a background in economics and a degree from Harvard University. Born in Taiwan, she immigrated to the U.S. at a young age and has had a significant influence on transportation policies and infrastructure during her time in office.
