Edward VI
Edward VI was the son of King Henry VIII and ruled England from 1547 until his death in 1553, making him a very young king, only nine when he ascended. His reign was marked by strong Protestant reforms, shifting England away from Catholic traditions and towards more Protestant practices. Despite his youth, he influenced significant religious changes, including the introduction of the Book of Common Prayer. Edward’s health declined quickly during his early teens, and he died at age 15. His reign was brief but impactful, setting the stage for further religious transformation in England.
