Edo Castle

Edo Castle, located in Tokyo, Japan, was a large and powerful fortress serving as the residence of the Tokugawa shoguns, who ruled Japan from the early 17th to mid-19th century. Originally built in the 15th century, it became the political center of Japan during the Edo period. The castle featured massive stone walls, moats, and multiple buildings, including a main keep, administrative offices, and living quarters. Today, much of the original structure is gone, but its outer walls and gardens remain, offering insight into Japan’s feudal history and governance during that era.
