Economic Refugees

Economic refugees are individuals who leave their home country primarily due to severe economic hardship. They may flee a lack of jobs, extreme poverty, or unstable living conditions, seeking better opportunities and a higher standard of living in another country. Unlike political refugees, who escape persecution or violence, economic refugees are motivated by the desire to improve their economic prospects. These migrants often face challenges in their new countries, including legal barriers and social integration, while contributing to economies through labor and entrepreneurship.
