Economic Planning Board (South Korea)
The Economic Planning Board (EPB) of South Korea was a government agency established in 1961 to oversee the country's economic development and planning. Its main role was to design and implement policies aimed at rapid industrialization and economic growth. The EPB focused on long-term economic strategies, supported key industries, and coordinated government investments. Through these efforts, South Korea transformed from an agrarian economy into a highly industrialized nation within a few decades. The agency was disbanded in 1994, but its impact on the country's economic success is still recognized today.
