Ecological Systems Theory
Ecological Systems Theory, developed by Urie Bronfenbrenner, explains how a person's development is influenced by different levels of their environment. These levels include the immediate settings like family and school (microsystem), connections between these settings (mesosystem), broader communities and societal influences (exosystem), larger cultural and societal factors (macrosystem), and the dimension of time impacting changes over life (chronosystem). The theory emphasizes that a child's growth is shaped by interactions within and between these layers, showing how personal development is interconnected with social, economic, and cultural contexts.
