ECLS

ECLS, or Extracorporeal Life Support, is a medical technique that temporarily takes over the heart and lungs' job when they are unable to function properly. Using specialized machines, blood is removed from the body, oxygenated externally, and then returned, allowing the heart and lungs to rest and recover. It’s often used in critical cases like severe heart failure or lung failure, providing vital support while treatment continues. ECLS can be life-saving, serving as a bridge to recovery or further intervention.
