earth structure

Earth’s structure consists of several layers. The outermost layer, the crust, is solid and relatively thin, like a shell. Beneath that is the mantle, a thick, semi-solid layer where rocks can flow slowly. Below the mantle is the outer core, made of liquid iron and nickel, which generates Earth’s magnetic field. The innermost layer is the inner core—a dense, solid sphere of iron and nickel. These layers interact to produce geological activity such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and magnetic field variations, shaping the planet over time.
