Dutch Parliament
The Dutch Parliament is the main legislative body of the Netherlands, responsible for making and passing laws. It consists of two chambers: the House of Representatives (149 members elected by citizens) and the Senate (75 members chosen by provincial legislatures). The House of Representatives debates laws proposed by the government, scrutinizes policies, and represents the public’s interests. The Senate reviews and approves or rejects laws passed by the House. Parliament holds the government accountable through questioning and debate, ensuring that laws align with the country's needs and values.
