Dussehra Festival

Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is a major Hindu festival celebrated in India, marking the victory of good over evil. It usually occurs in September or October, symbolizing the triumph of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, as depicted in the epic Ramayana. The festival features elaborate folk dramas, reenactments, and the burning of effigies of Ravana, signifying the destruction of evil. Dussehra also coincides with the end of the Durga Puja celebration, honoring Goddess Durga's victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. It embodies the spirit of righteousness and the importance of virtue in everyday life.
