Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method
The Duckworth–Lewis–Stern (DLS) method is a way to fairly determine the target score in limited-overs cricket matches affected by weather interruptions, like rain. It adjusts the target based on how many overs each team has played and how many wickets they’ve lost, reflecting the game’s changing potential. Essentially, it calculates a new, equitable target so that neither team is unfairly advantaged or disadvantaged by reduced play, ensuring the match outcome remains as fair as possible despite interruptions.
