Driver's Ed (Driver Education)
Driver's Ed, or driver education, is a formal program designed to teach individuals the skills and knowledge necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely. It typically includes both classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training, covering topics such as traffic laws, road signs, defensive driving techniques, and vehicle operation. The goal of Driver's Ed is to prepare new drivers to handle various driving situations responsibly and to pass the driving test required for obtaining a driver's license. Completion of a Driver's Ed program can also sometimes lead to reduced insurance rates for young drivers.
