dripstone

Dripstone is a natural mineral formation found in caves, formed by the slow deposition of minerals from dripping water. When water containing dissolved minerals, mainly calcium carbonate, seeps through rocks and drips into a cave, it leaves behind tiny mineral deposits. Over time, these deposits build up into structures called stalactites hanging from the ceiling and stalagmites rising from the floor. If these formations meet, they can form a column. Dripstone shapes and sizes vary, creating unique, intricate features that add to the cave's geological diversity.
