Double Stars

Double stars, or binary stars, are pairs of stars that orbit around a common center of mass due to their gravitational attraction. They can be seen as two stars closely located in the sky, often appearing as a single point of light to the naked eye. Some double stars are visually separate, while others are so close that they appear as one through telescopes. Astronomers study double stars to learn about stellar masses, compositions, and distances, as their movements can reveal important information about the nature of the stars involved.
