
Dorabji Tata
Dorabji Tata (1859-1932) was an influential Indian industrialist and the son of the founder of the Tata Group, Jamsetji Tata. He played a key role in expanding the family's business, particularly in steel and hospitality. Dorabji established Tata Steel in 1907, which became India’s first integrated steel plant. He also founded the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, promoting higher education and research in India. Known for his philanthropic efforts, he contributed significantly to social causes, education, and health care, embodying the Tata Group's commitment to community development and ethical business practices.
