Don Valley Stadium

Don Valley Stadium was an athletics venue located in Sheffield, England. Opened in 1991, it was designed for track and field events and hosted various competitions, including the UK Athletics Championships. With a capacity of around 25,000, it featured an 8-lane running track and facilities for multiple sports. However, due to maintenance costs and declining use, the stadium was closed in 2013 and subsequently demolished. The site has since been redeveloped, highlighting the challenges of maintaining large sports facilities in the face of changing community needs and budget constraints.
