Dominion Status
Dominion Status refers to a form of self-governance that certain countries within the British Empire achieved in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. While they were still technically part of the Empire, dominions like Canada, Australia, and New Zealand had significant autonomy and could manage their own laws and affairs. This status allowed them to govern themselves while retaining a symbolic connection to Britain, notably regarding the monarchy. Dominion Status marked a step towards full independence, reflecting a gradual shift from colonial control to self-determination and national identity.
