Dolch Sight Words are a set of commonly used words essential for early reading proficiency. Compiled by educator Edward Dolch in the 1930s, the list includes 220 sight words, plus an additional 95 nouns. These words are frequently encountered in children's books and are often difficult to sound out phonetically. By recognizing these words on sight, children can improve their reading fluency and comprehension, allowing them to focus on understanding the text rather than decoding individual words.
