Diwali (festival)

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a major Hindu festival celebrated by millions across the world. It signifies the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. Typically observed in October or November, the festival lasts five days and includes rituals, prayers, and family gatherings. People light oil lamps (diyas), decorate their homes with colorful rangoli, exchange sweets, and set off fireworks. It commemorates several historical events, including the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after defeating the demon king Ravana. Diwali is not only celebrated by Hindus but also by Sikhs, Jains, and certain Buddhists.
