Dio Cassius

Dio Cassius was a Roman historian who lived in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD. He is known for writing a comprehensive history of Rome, called "Roman History," which covers Rome's origins through his own time. His work provides detailed accounts of political events, emperors, military campaigns, and social changes. Although some parts are lost or incomplete, Dio's writings are valuable because they offer insight into Roman history from a contemporary perspective, contributing significantly to our understanding of ancient Rome.
