Deutscher Krieg
The Deutscher Krieg, or German War of 1866, was a conflict between Prussia and Austria over control of German territories. Prussia, led by Otto von Bismarck, sought to unify Germany under its dominance by excluding Austria. The war lasted only seven weeks and ended with Prussian victory at the Battle of Königgrätz. The result was the dissolution of the German Confederation and the creation of the North German Confederation under Prussian leadership. This war significantly advanced Prussia's goal of unifying Germany and marked a key step toward the eventual German Empire.
