desert biomes

Desert biomes are regions characterized by very low rainfall, resulting in dry conditions that limit plant and animal life. They can be hot, like the Sahara, or cold, like parts of the Arctic. Deserts typically have sparse vegetation, such as cacti and shrubs, adapted to conserve water. Animal species in deserts are often nocturnal or burrow underground to escape the heat and conserve moisture. Despite harsh conditions, deserts support unique ecosystems with specialized plants and animals that thrive in extreme environments, highlighting nature’s resilience.
