Dengvaxia

Dengvaxia is a vaccine developed to protect against dengue fever, a mosquito-borne illness common in tropical areas. It works by teaching the immune system to recognize and fight the dengue virus. However, it’s most effective for people who have already been exposed to dengue before vaccination. If given to someone who has never had dengue, it can sometimes increase the risk of severe illness if they get infected later. Because of this, health authorities recommend screening individuals before vaccination and using Dengvaxia as part of a broader dengue prevention strategy.
