demographic transitions

Demographic transition is a model that describes how populations change over time as societies develop. It typically occurs in four stages: starting with high birth and death rates, leading to stable population; then death rates decline due to improvements in medicine and living standards, causing population growth; followed by birth rates also falling as families choose smaller sizes, stabilizing population again; and finally, birth and death rates are low, resulting in a steady population. This pattern reflects a society’s economic and social progress, shaping population dynamics over time.
