Demand-Control-Support Model
The Demand-Control-Support Model suggests that work stress impacts health based on three factors: demands (the workload or pressure), control (the ability to make decisions and influence work tasks), and support (assistance from colleagues and supervisors). High demands combined with low control and limited support can increase stress and health risks. Conversely, when workers have manageable demands, greater control, and strong support, they experience less stress and better well-being. This model helps explain how workplace conditions can influence physical and mental health outcomes.
