Daily Value
Daily Values (DVs) are reference standards set by health authorities to help consumers understand the nutrient content of foods and how it fits into their overall diet. They are based on a 2,000-calorie daily intake and indicate the percentage of each nutrient in a serving. For example, if a snack provides 20% DV of calcium, it contributes a significant portion toward the recommended daily amount. DVs make it easier to compare foods and make informed choices for balanced nutrition without needing to know detailed dietary guidelines.
