D'Hondt method
The D'Hondt method is a way to fairly allocate seats in a legislative body based on the number of votes each party receives. It works by dividing each party's total votes by a series of divisors (1, 2, 3, etc.) to create a ranking of all parties. The seats are then assigned to the parties with the highest quotients, one at a time, until all seats are filled. This method tends to favor larger parties slightly but aims to reflect voters’ preferences proportionally, balancing fairness and representative diversity.
