Cyber Squatting

Cyber squatting is the act of registering, using, or selling a domain name that is similar to a well-known brand or trademark, with the intent of profiting from the trademark's popularity. Often, the cyber squatter does not produce content for the site but waits until the brand or company gains recognition, then seeks to sell the domain at an inflated price. This practice can confuse consumers and infringe on intellectual property rights. Laws and regulations, such as the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, exist to prevent and address such activities.
