
Cuitláhuac
Cuitláhuac was a notable Aztec emperor and military leader in early 16th-century Mexico. He is best known for leading the resistance against Spanish conquistadors following the death of Moctezuma II, notably during the smallpox epidemic that devastated the Aztec population. His leadership helped temporarily rally indigenous forces, but ultimately, the Aztec empire fell to the Spanish in 1521. Cuitláhuac is remembered for his bravery and dedication to protecting his people during a pivotal moment in Mexican history.
