CTE stages
Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) develops in stages reflecting increasing brain damage. In early stages, individuals may experience mood changes, memory issues, or impulsivity. As it progresses, cognitive functions decline, leading to confusion, difficulty with planning, and behavioral problems. In advanced stages, symptoms become more severe, including significant memory loss, motor problems like tremors or stiffness, and loss of independence. These stages represent the worsening impact of repeated brain injuries over time, and while each person's experience can vary, understanding these stages helps in recognizing and managing the disease.
